BU exhibitOn Tuesday, high school staff members Donna Geetter, Katie Bierworth, and Bernardo Cruz took a small group of JC students to the Binghamton University campus. The group viewed the art exhibit "not but nothing other: African-American Portrayals 1930 to today" and listened to presentations by university students enrolled in “Black Women and Creativity in the 1960s and 1970s," a joint course in English and Africana Studies taught by Dr. Jennifer Stoever. Each university student shared a history and compelling story about influential black women artists and activists. After engaging in a Q&A session, the Johnson City students were able to chat with the Binghamton students about the artists and the social issues they presented. Thank you to the Binghamton University Art Gallery, Dr. Stoever, and the wonderful BU students for sharing this experience with us!
