hydroponicsSecond-graders in Nancy Ramirez' and Brenna Kenney's classes took part in a fun science lab this week involving hydroponics. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil by instead using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. JC's K-5 instructional coach Rebecca Duell, along with the farm-to-school coordinator from the Rural Health Network, showed off the tower garden and provided the students the opportunity to adorn it with seed plugs to grow lettuce, tomatoes and more.
