Summer Zone 2019

Summer Zone camp ends with a celebration at BU
Posted on 08/09/2019
JC Summer ZoneJohnson City Schools' annual Summer Zone program ended its four-week camp last night with a celebration at Binghamton University. Our participating students were joined by the Whitney Point and Harpursville Summer Zone students and enjoyed a group dinner followed by each school highlighting its camp with a video and musical and/or dance performance. Over the course of four weeks, our campers took part in team-building activities, field trips to Greenwood and Recreation Parks, a tour of Tompkins Cortland Community College, and more. Thank you to JC social worker and community school coordinator Sam Bligen for making this year's camp another success, as well as to senior camper student volunteer Mason Regan, our youth mentors, and other team leaders. We also thank the many community partners who helped make Summer Zone possible: Binghamton University, Broome-Tioga BOCES, SUNY Broome, Superintendent Roland, our transportation, maintenance and custodial staff, and many more.
